Today CrossFit HQ announced a new category of events, so-called licensed events. Read the full announcement here.
CrossFit-licensed events are officially recognized competitions that allow organizers to employ limited use of the CrossFit name and mark in the promotion and creation of merchandise for their event. … Unlike CrossFit-sanctioned events, winners of CrossFit-licensed events do not receive invitations to compete in the CrossFit Games.
The two first licensed events are “CrossFit Sand Clash,” a two-day event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (instagram) and the CrossFit Collegiate Championship which will be held at the United States Air Force Academy on April 19–21, 2019.
The licensed events can make limited use of the CrossFit trademark and the event organizer needs to hold a crossfit L1 certificate.
